Kim Jong-il (pictured above right with Fifa’s Sepp Blatter), the leader of North Korea, is the latest ’foreigner’ to show interest in buying a Premier League club. The ’Dear Leader’ is apparently a great fan of Harry Redknapp’s Portsmouth.
Sources close to Jong-il claim he has contacted Redknapp personally and disclosed his interest in buying the Fratton Park-based outfit.
Fifa president Sepp Blatter recently called for stricter rules on foreign ownership of clubs in the UK and abroad.
"Something has to be done about these billionaire owners", Blatter told our reporter at the European Parliament.
"These days you can buy a club as easily as you buy a football jersey. There is something wrong and that’s why I ask the European Union to act.
"This is not just about England where the problem is acute. This will spread across Europe."
But Portsmouth are belived to be happy with the offer tabled by Kim Jong-il of 50 million Vietnamese dongs. Which is approximately worth just over, £175 (British pounds sterling).
Meanwhile, the Premier League is to seek clarification from Portsmouth about who owns them after reports in Israel appeared to list the club among assets belonging to the controversial business and political figure Arkadi Gaydamak rather than his son, Alexandre.
So unless Kim Jong-il is prepared to offer Fifa’s lord’s a wee sweetener, (and we don’t mean Aspartame), Sepp and his cronies may not wish to play ball.

Current Newcastle United owner Mike Ashley won’t be too pleased to see the photo (above) of his foul-mouthed manager, Joe Kinnear, clearly displaying a lack of interest during the recent game against Everton.
Amazingly Kinnear even managed to miss both of Newcastle’s goals - because, (or so we are led to believe), he was cut short - as they fought their way back from a two-goal deficit.

Chelsea’s very own serial diver, moaner and haranguer of referee’s (Didier Drogba), has scooped the Most-Hated Player in the Premier League trophy for the third year in a row.
Stiff competition came by way of team mates; John Terry and Ashley Cole, but the dispicable Drogba won hands down.
